“ I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy, I was trying to do what was right.”

                                                        Dean Smith

One of the greatest basketball coaches was Dean Smith. By greatest it doesn’t technically mean he was best known because of all the games he won, but because he was a great men indeed. He wasn’t trying to be a legacy himself, he wanted to do what was right for all the team players he coached. He taught them how to have good character and not g=curse and always do what is right. Dean Smith wanted to be remembered as a man who did what was right for people not for the way he coached his players. Although he was a man that everybody appreciate. In his last days he was awarded and people clapped for him. They showed respect for dean Smith who valued his team players more than the title. Today as I learned about Dean Smith I can reflect that he shows a great example for many people. He is someone who should always be remembered, because he not only made a great life for those he coached but also made a great life for those who watched.

" What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player."

Your personality is was people value most when they first start meeting you. How you treat others is what counts more than what you give to others. You could be the most successful person in the whole world, but that is not what counts. what counts is the type of person you are and the type of person you are willing to become. Someone could be the greatest basketball player in world but, the worst person you can come across. Having a good character matters when you try to gain people and teach them the right thing to do. It is important to always have a big heart even if the world gives you everything or if it gives you nothing at all. Your love to others is valued more than the label you are given.
