Tyler Hawks is a Brigham Young University Basketball Player who has never been a talented player, but worked hard to be the best of him team. He would practice with his dad bright and early in the morning and practice the same shots over and over and over. There was times where he made 143 baskets with no misses. His hard work got him into the 2nd player named Mr.Basketball two times in a row, I guess that's a thing now. However, he was committed to church and god so when he got the opportunity to go to a mission he took it with no doubt. He was able to go to a Philippines mission for two years and become the BYU leading scorer. It is quite true that hard work pays off because all his determination got him to where he is now.

“Only those live who do good.”
There might be about billions and billions of people in this world, but some are just here to be here. Have you ever heard about a quote that says “ not all that die are dead and not all that live are alive.” This quote relates to only those who do good live because you are living your life how you want it. IF you decide to go the wrong path you aren’t living at all you are just wandering around earth making those who do good do better. When you choose to live your life doing good you are making a mark in this world. You might die, but you won’t be dead because your legacy lives on to those you knew you and those who you helped in the world. You are only truly living if you decide to be a light in someone’s cloud. You have a purpose once you realize doing good is what keeps you alive.

A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity
Dr. Ben Carson started his life as a child of a family of 24, obviously he was very poor. As a young kid he did not like school, he was basically the worst student in hus school, but when his mother decided to tell him to not watch television and to read more he knew that he was becoming smarter. I agree with Ben Carson’s testimony. Poverty is not something you HAVE to live with it is just a choice of life you are given. You either stay in poverty or you make something out of yourself and become successful. Carson became a very successful doctor who put his life into separating conjoined twins. He was able to prosper in his career and was soon running for president in 2016. Being put born poor gave Carson a choice of becoming someone and many people can do the same, life is all about choices. When you do the right thing great things happen, Ben’s mother made the choice of not seeing her children waste their time watching nonsense and gave them a gift of reading that helped them a lot in life. Like Ben Carson said you try your best and God will do the rest. Education is the greatest thing you can be given, try making the best of it.

Challenges Teens Face Today
- What are several of the major challenges teens deal with today?
- Peer pressure - Depression
- Drug addiction - Not fitting in
- Relationships - Bullying
- Academic problems - Eating DISORDERS
- What are one or two challenges YOU are dealing with and what are you doing about them?
Some challenges I am facing as a teen today are relationships among friends and academic problems. I am most likely trying to keep a small circle because last year having a lot of friends didn’t go so well. In school I get a lot of stress when I have a lot of homework to do, so I try to sort things out by doing what I feel confident about first.
- How does being a CTR person help you to overcome any challenges you may face?
Being a CTR person can help teens or any person overcome any challenges they may face because being a CTR person makes them good and brings them blessing when they choose the right. Basically when a challenge is approaching you deciding to do the right thing is important.
- How can you help other teens overcome their challenges?
I believe I can help other teens overcome their challenges by listening to them and share out their problems. AKA be there for them.
- Reflection: What is the greatest need that teens have?
When it comes to needs and being a teen I think the greatest need they have is attention. I think every teens is always looking for someone who listens to them and is always there in both good and bad.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness”
Kindness and doing good are two different things. When you choose the right you are doing it for your own benefits. In the other hand, when you show kindness you are spreading it amongst others. Children are taught to be kind to people since they first develop knowledge. They way you act kind upon others later reflects on the person you become. Greatness is given to those who are kind and humble not to those who are cruel and dishonest. So the next time there is someone in need , showing kindness makes you great.

Who a person is relies on many things, it could be their character or anything. However what matters most is your manners. Your manners make you how you want to become. When you meet someone you realize everything about them, what you like and what you don’t like. Having good manners makes you a great person even if you are viewed as less. People with the most manners end up having the best personality. Being thankful and kind is what builds up manners and your reputation. I believe the people who have good manners are the best people alive. It's always so honoring to meet someone who is respectful and well educated rather than meeting someone who has the least manners and is granted with higher education. There is always more to a person and choosing the right is never the wrong option.

“A Good Name Is Better Than Anything You Can Achieve In This Life”
- Coach K.
Being to achieve anything you ever dreamed of is a good feeling. Being a able to prove people wrong, and show that that you were capable of being successful is a good feeling. What is not a good feeling is to choose the wrong and be known as someone who did the wrong. Years later people would remember you as someone who chose the wrong and someone who was despicable. However, being remembered as a vivacious person who was very admirable is far more important than achieving your goals and being successful. Because it all depends on how you were able to achieve them. At the end the only thing that is left is your name, you don’t have a choice of telling people how to remember you after you are dead. Building a good name for yourself is what matters, money is temporary but your name is forever. Like many will say being known is far less important than what you are known for.;)
