Every now and then we go back into history and think about all the brave people there once was. When we think about brave we think about the firefighter's who risk their lives to help people. But on September 11, 2001 not only did firefighters show there braveness but so did the people of New York. The 9/11 attack was a tragic moment in history where more than 2,996 people were killed and approximately 6,000 more were critically injured. The twins towers, known as the centerpieces of the World trade Center was the target of the Islamic attack against the U.S.  Imagine being in one of these floors and having no escape except jumping out the window or staying inside waiting for death. Many people were brave and had the courage of risking 2-3 bones in order to save their lives. Of course many did not make it but in my opinion trying was the best thing they could of done in their last moments of life.

After this tragic attack New York was able to re-build themselves and prosper eight years after. Every single one of the victims of the 9/11 attack were carved on the memorial museum.

" Obedience is the great test of life"
                                                -Thomas S. Monson

Obey, it seems so simple, but to our nature we are most likely to break a rule or two ... hundred. If  you think about it obedience is a necessary element of life. Most of our lives are spent either at home or at school. In both places we are told what to do and we are in the choice of whether to obey our parents and teachers or to disobey. To our own benefits we aim to obey our elders because that's the right thing to do. But if there was no favorable results to our good actions would people still obey the rules? We are taught to obey because in return we get blessings but when I think about it that way it seems more of a "you give me this and I give you that" action. In my opinion people should be obedient for their own will, excluding the fact that you are getting something in return. Being a good person is not expensive it just takes a little bit of effort to persuade your instincts to do the right thing. At the end of the trip you won't regret a single thing you did if you decide to obey and choose the right in everything you do.

                             " Decisions Determine Destiny"

                                                                   By, Thomas S. Monson
Decisions take a big part in our every day life, you may ask whether if the decisions we take are important. As we grow older the choices we make get more difficult and this is when you start to decide for yourself and make something positive out of the choices you make. In the quote, " Decisions Determine Destiny," Monson tries to show how the decisions we take today will determine our future later on in life. As for the many decisions we have to make every moment we are conscious of what is right and wrong. Therefore, when making choices we have to think stuff through for our own benefits. For example, if one day you are with a group of friends and your best friends decides to try smoking, the decision you take will affect your destiny, if you go along and smoke as well you are putting yourself at risk. In situations like these, you don't want to betray your best friend by not smoking, but try to think it through and choose the right.  We all have the power to change our decisions and change who we are when ever we feel like it. So try to make your decisions matter because you are the only one capable of making your destiny a good one.

" Education is the latch key to success in life"

                                                                         Gordon B. Hinckley
When I read this quote it takes me back to when I was a child. Ever since we are small we develop our knowledge by attending pre-school, elementary, etc. When Gordon B. Hinckley states that the latch key to success is education, he is right. For the major part we spend most of our life time in school every day of the week. As a kid you probably heard the fact that you go to school to become someone in life more than ten times a day. Even after when we stop going to school we still learn new things by the people around us who teach us a whisk of wisdom. Something we should be thankful about is that today education is free. Back then the only people who were granted education were rich males. That right there teaches you how education is important for the fact that everything you learn in school is used out there somewhere in the world. Education may also create who we become, for example when you read a book many of them change our perspectives on certain topics. In conclusion, education is not something you should take for granted.

My name is Melissa Raymundo. I tend to change my favorite sport or favorite food every other week and in this case for the moment my favorite sport is Baseball. Although I barely know how to hit the ball, I'm interested in learning and probably getting to play a game or so soon... ;).
