-Thomas S. Monson
Obey, it seems so simple, but to our nature we are most likely to break a rule or two ... hundred. If you think about it obedience is a necessary element of life. Most of our lives are spent either at home or at school. In both places we are told what to do and we are in the choice of whether to obey our parents and teachers or to disobey. To our own benefits we aim to obey our elders because that's the right thing to do. But if there was no favorable results to our good actions would people still obey the rules? We are taught to obey because in return we get blessings but when I think about it that way it seems more of a "you give me this and I give you that" action. In my opinion people should be obedient for their own will, excluding the fact that you are getting something in return. Being a good person is not expensive it just takes a little bit of effort to persuade your instincts to do the right thing. At the end of the trip you won't regret a single thing you did if you decide to obey and choose the right in everything you do.
