Ear Nose Throat Doctor
Duties and Responsibilities:
An ear nose throat doctor or also known as an ENT is a physician trained in the medical and surgical treatments of the ear, nose throat, and related structures of the head and neck.
- Ear specialists treat ear disorders, like ear infections, facial nerve or cranial nerve disorders, and cancerous disorders of the outer and inner ear.
- Nose specialists include caring for nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, allergies, and breathing.
- Finally throat specialist expertise in managing diseases of the larynx and upper aerodigestive tract or esophagus.
Salary:
$369,790
Education:
Like all physicians, the ENT doctors need to obtain a medical degree right after college.
- Undergraduate degree ( 4 years of college or university)
- Medical degree (4 years of medical school)
- Residency training ( 3 years of residency, plus 1 year of surgery training)
- Extra 2 years for additional training and residency.
Demand or Need for this profession:
According to the BSL there is expected to be a growth of all physicians in the upcoming years. For there are that the elderly population continues to increase there would be in need of specialists in hearing loss.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I believe I would rather not like to become a ear nose throat doctor because i am very grossed out by anything that includes surgeries. In contrast I would rather prefer to become a nurse or assistant in the medical careers.
