         Chiropractor

Duties and responsibilities:

     Chiropractors diagnose, treat  and prevent mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and look at the effect of these disorders of the function of nervous system and general health. Their aim is to relieve pain, increase mobility and to get patients back to full health and movement. Treatment involves using the hands to apply a specific force to adjust the joints of the body. Chiropractors treat chronic and acute conditions, which include back, shoulder and neck problems.

Salary:

     The average annual salary is $66,160.

Education:

     To become a chiropractor you first need a bachelor’s degree, then you must complete 4 years of professional studies to earn the Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic college.Finally after that is done, you need to obtain a license.

Demand for this profession:

   According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of chiropractors is expected to increase 28% between 2008 and 2018.
    

Reflection:


  In reflection, I think I WOULD like to become a chiropractor. The reason why is because it seems like a peaceful job that is beneficial to most athletes who need joint treatments.
