     ASTRONAUT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of an astronaut vary between a pilot and a space traveler. Most pilots are responsible for assisting the commander in controlling and operating the vehicle.

SALARY: According to NASA civilian astronauts are awarded a pay grade of anywhere from GS-11 to GS-14. The average annual pay starts from $65,000. Seasoned astronauts can earn up to $141, 715 per year.

EDUCATION: No matter what background a bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological sciences, physical science or mathematics is needed. It takes more than school to gain a foothold as an astronaut selection. Candidates also have to pass a physical that requires a 20/20 vision, blood pressure not more than 140/90 in a sitting position, and a height of 62 to 75 inches.

DEMAND OR NEED FOR THIS PROFESSION: While there is an increasing demand for astronauts due to increasing space interests, the total number of astronauts is limited due to competition for open spots.

REFLECTION: In reflection I would like to become an astronaut if it wasn't that hard to become one but since it i realized that it isn’t that good of a career since you are putting your life in danger.
