    “ ENTHUSIASM MAKES THE DIFFERENCE”
     Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

On the first day of school, what people are looking for is enthusiastic people. People who are always happy and eager to learn and try to make everything they do in life fun, not someone who is lame and sluggish. It makes a difference to people when they meet a fun and a boring person. Being fun does not technically mean that you go to parties and consume drugs, but that you are a person who welcomes everyone with a smile and you make a conversation out of anything. Great things were never achieved without enthusiasm. If you want to accomplish something you do it because you are willing to do it not because you are told to. Doing the right things always includes a little push of enthusiasm because you are not willing to do the right thing until you find the little salutary benefits. Which is being proud of what you've done. Not surprisingly when someone enthusiastic comes into your life you get some of that good vibe in you and find every time you are with thing thrilling. It is important to do things with determination and a little bit of fun. Because at the end of the book life is too short to do everything seriously.

“ I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy, I was trying to do what was right.”

                                                        Dean Smith

One of the greatest basketball coaches was Dean Smith. By greatest it doesn’t technically mean he was best known because of all the games he won, but because he was a great men indeed. He wasn’t trying to be a legacy himself, he wanted to do what was right for all the team players he coached. He taught them how to have good character and not g=curse and always do what is right. Dean Smith wanted to be remembered as a man who did what was right for people not for the way he coached his players. Although he was a man that everybody appreciate. In his last days he was awarded and people clapped for him. They showed respect for dean Smith who valued his team players more than the title. Today as I learned about Dean Smith I can reflect that he shows a great example for many people. He is someone who should always be remembered, because he not only made a great life for those he coached but also made a great life for those who watched.

“ Karma will take care of itself.”

It is not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, karma { good results, destiny, fortune, good luck} will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.”This statement by  Dr. Randy Pausch is the key to achieving your dreams. How to accomplish your goals in life and dreams ? is not the right question. What you should be thinking about is,  how can you lead my life the right way and be blessed by the good things later. It all start by how your character is and how you act upon others. If your reaction to what someone did to you is bad it can later come back to you and prevent you from achieving your dreams. In the other hand, if you did something good to a person and he becomes the boss of the company you want to work at, he would remember and give you a chance because of that act of kindness you did. It is always better to move on from the things people did to you and let karma do the rest. Because what comes around goes around. If you help someone achieve their dreams, karma will make sure your dreams come to you.

Educating the Body, Mind, and Character

“ Of all the work that is done, or that could be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and above all CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destiny of the nation.”                                                 Theodore Roosevelt

We are always thinking about the future and what will earth look like in a few years. We think about what our country will become in a few years, because we are the future. We walk around earth thinking about all the things we can come up with to improve humanity. But in reality the only thing we can do is educate our mind, body, and character. We are the ones who need to improve, not the material evolving earth. Destiny is all parts of what we choose to become. Our character is what defines what our future holds and what we do for others. We can improve our country by lending a hand to those in need. And that is done by educating our character and what we think. The future is what we want it to be. So if we want people to stop having illnesses we start off my educating our body and eating healthy. Spiritually what helps us live is hope, hope that things will get better eventually and that is what we need to do for our country and the nation. We don’t need flying cars, or teleporters, what we need is us. We are what gets to write the future.

“ Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual, well-being.”    Mr. C. S. Haymore

As much as we think it is not our responsibility to take care of our mind, body, and spirit, we are the only ones that can prevent things from damaging us. If we let bad influences come between us, our spirit is not the only thing that would be affected. Once one of the three is not balanced everything falls apart. Yes, having a bad influence ruins your spiritual conscience, but it also ruins your body if you let bad influences pressure you to do harmful things to your body. No body in life is responsible for what happens to you but yourself. You make the decision of not eating but doing drugs instead,  you make the choice to cheat in a test. Little by little you are not only harming yourself but you are harming the people that love you and what to see you succeed in life. That is why if you want to benefit your body and mind you start of with doing good and taking care of yourself. We can not control what happens around us but we can control what is to become of us.

“Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education”                         By: Martin Luther King Jr.

When you are spoken about education, all you think of is the basics which is school, smarts and intelligence. That is only half true because when it comes to education we do not only learn about math and science, we are also taught how to behave. To be successful you need to be intelligent, but to be someone in life you also need to have a good personality. It can not be one or the other, because intelligence cannot run alone without character. People mostly because of who you are, and what you aspire to be. It is not right to want to become a teacher with a character that is not good. And it is not right to want to be the best football player when your grades are nearly as good as your skills. That is why in many schools you are required to have a grade of D or upper in order to play a sport. Because good sportsmanship is good character and good brains.

“ We need the courage to START and CONTINUE what we should do and the courage to STOP what we shouldn’t do.”     - Richard L. Evans

As humans we have the will to do what we put our minds to. It could either be good or bad. However, when it comes to choosing the right we should always have the courage to start and continue what we should do which is help others and be there for someone when it is most needed. Like the men in the last clip who gave up his job to serve the poor and hungry. He valued that people should start to give and continue to do what he is doing because one day we would be in need of something and we’d hope someone would be there to help us. In addition we should also have the courage to stop what we shouldn’t do which is what the men in the train station did, they stopped suicidal people from getting killed because life is a gift and death should be too. So you shouldn’t try to take it away as hard as you think your life is because others have it worse.
               My Winter Break

During my winter break I spent time trying to finish all the episodes of The Vampire Diaries, which I did. Since I didn’t have homework I was capable of doing more stuff. For xmas eve I spent the night at my aunt's house for a family night. We ate and had a bonfire, 3 days after we celebrates my brother's birthday on the 27th. His cake was so delicious it was the first time I actually ate it all because i am not a fan of cake. I did my best not to text certain people and to spend more time going out. That's what I always say and I always end up staying at home. I went to the mall and ps. I bought shoes and a bomber jacket and some other apparel. I was happy to Know it was the first time I bought everything with my own money. I wanted to work for winter break but I wasn’t able to because it is hard to find a job for a 14 year old girl. For New Years eve we didn’t do that much of a celebration as other years but we stayed up till 12 and yeah. For the rest of the week we basically slept ate good food and duh watch movies. I recently started watching Girl Meets World from Disney channel. It is pretty cool and funny, I got sick during the last couple of days and so I had a 13 mile race which was the 1st race I passed Lissbeth. I would of liked to go out more with my friends but  sometimes it is better at home with not so fake surroundings.  I learned many lessons these couple of days and wish they’d help me grow throughout these months left of freshman year.
